Rasam is an South Indian popular side dish which we serve with rice..Hot piping rasam a nice comfort dish to have with white rice with side dish like potato fry and some curd..Though it don`t have much health benefits,can make it a good recipe by adding garlic ,pepper corns ,cumin seeds like this..

COCONUT PURNALU / DEEP FRIED KOBBARI BURELU/ DEEP FRIED ANDHRA POPULAR FESTIVAL SWEETS
fresh coconut powder or grated-1cup
jaggery-1/2cup
dosa or idly batter-2cups
cardamom powder-1tsp
In a bowl prepare jaggery syrup by adding right amount of water to jaggery........
let it boil.add in fresh cardamom powder to this..........
now add in coconut powder(i used) and mix well.........it becomes like halwa........
cook this for just 3-4 minutes........and let it cool...........
after it cools make into a round shaped balls..........
dip these balls in the dosa batter and deep fry in oil..........
when they turns to light golden colour drain them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.........
serve hot........

Easy tamarind rasam for rice | Tamarind charu | andhra style tamarind rasam
Ingredients
tamarind paste-2 tbsp
onion-1small
red chilli powder-1tsp
salt-to taste
fried sesame powder-2 tsps
cilantro leaves few -to garnish
TO TEMPER
oil-1tbsp
mustard seeds -1/2tsp
cumin-1tsp
dry red chilli-3 or 4
curry leaves-1o
hing/inguva-a pinch
Preparation
1.add 2cups of water in the tamarind paste and keep it aside.if you are using tamarind pulp soak in water for few minutes and using water squeeze out the juice
2.chop onions finely and add to tamarind water.
3.dry fry the sesame seeds and make it into a fine powder and add to the water along with red chilli powder.
4.now heat a kadai make temper using under tempering ingredients and to the water.
5.add salt+cilantro serve with rice.
5.keep it in fridge and drink. its like a sharbath too.

PONGADALU/PONGANALU USING LEFT OVER IDLI BATTER/SIMPLE SOUTH INDIAN BREAK FAST RECIPES
Ingredients
dosa thick batter(for info see the note)-2cups
onions-2
chanadal/bengal gram-1/2cup
green chillies-4
salt-to taste
cilantro-1/2cup
curry leaves-1spring
chop the onions,chillies,cilantro and curry leaves.........
soak the chanadal for 30 minutes............
now in dosa abtter add in chopped the onions,chillies,cilantro and curry leaves.......and soaked chanadal.........
with this pongadala batter is ready.........
heat pongadala pan add in a drop of oil in every hole........
fill the batter til 3/4th......close it with lid..........cook for 3-5minutes.......
check it once......reverse it and cook on other side too...........
serve hot with coconut or PEANUT CHUTNEY.........
