Beet root raita/quick and easy raita recipes/Beet root perugu pachadi/Step by step pictures


WHAT YOU NEED

Grated or coarsely ground-1 beet root small
thick fresh curd/yogurt-2 cups
salt

Oil-1 tbsp
mustard seeds-1 tsp
cumin-1 tsp
urad dal-1 tsp
red chili-2-3
hing/asafoetida-2-3 pinches


HOW TO COOK

grind beet root coarsely or grate it..Heat a pan with oil and saute all ingredients which given under oil and add beet root.

Cook for 5 minutes in medium flame and turn off.let it cool.Add salt in curd..Then add Beets mix...

Blend every thing well and serve hot with rotis,rice or parathas.

 Beet root is a very healthy n attractive color vegetable which is very cheap in price too...I often makes juices with  this lovely color root vegetable and if they are too pulpy uses to make some curry like this. If you have fresh hard beet roots then grate them to make this curry,but it needs some time and patience too.

SOYA CHUNKS MASALA GRAVY/SOYA NUGGETS COCONUT CASHEW MASALA/MEAL MAKER COCONUT GRAVY FOR ROTIS/EASY INDIAN SOYA CHUNKS RECIPES


Soya chunks are like vegetarian meat which contained lots of proteins....For vegetarians these soya chunks works out well...That`s why people also calls this as soya meat...The common name of soya nuggets is meal maker and it was in dislike list in my child hood days.I still remember the day when I tasted this soya chunks curry which amma cooked..The nugget was so spongy and chewy and after that I never tasted it again..After wedding, in super market I came across with this Soya chunks and with remembering of it`s health benefits,I pushed my self to buy a packet..After experimenting this recipe I was surprised and really satisfied with the taste..But,my bad luck is DH don`t like this soya nuggets and  when I served in lunch noted this.I really loved this with rotis and it`s a best combination too..Please try this next time when you get chance and enjoy the healthy meal.

WHAT YOU NEED

Soya chunks-200 grams
onion-1 big
tomato-1 big
garam masala-1 tsp(or 1/2 tsp)

TO GRIND

red chili powder-1 tsp( to taste)
salt-to taste
turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
fresh coconut powder-1/3 cup
cashews-10
ginger garlic paste-1 tsp
coriander powder-1/2 tsp(or 1 tsp)
cinnamon stick-1 inch stick
cloves-4
cardamoms-3
khus khus/gasagasalu/poppy seeds-1 tbsp
coconut milk-1/4 cup

TO TEMPER
oil-1 tbsp
mustard seeds-
cumin-1 tsp
red chili-1
curry leaves-1 sprig
cilantro leaves-few chopped


HOW TO COOK

Boil water in a vessel and put in soya chunks and let boil for few  minutes or until soya turns soft..drain into colander and keep this aside..Squeeze soay little bit to remove excess of water..

Now grind all the INGS into fine paste which mentioned under the list TO GRIND..

Heat a pan with oil and saute Ings one by one which given under  TO TEMPER.

Then add finely chopped onion and fry well,add diced tomatoes and mix well..

Now throw in boiled soya and combine every thing.After 3-4  minutes add ground paste and mix once again..

Cook til it leaves sides from pan in low flame by closing lid.If it looks too dry add some more milk or water..

After 5-7 minutes off flame and sprinkle garam masala and coriander leaves..

Serve hot with rotis..


MAHAS NOTES

 You can normal milk too..while grinding add milk slowly.once it looks in  thin consistency stop adding milk..

Khus khus is my choice and you can skip it..

After boiling chop soya for small size..

Adding coconut powder also depended on your taste.I added 1/3,If you like can add 1/2 cup or decrease to 1/4 cup.But,check about adding other Ings quantities.

GOBI KOOTU/ CAULI FLOWER KOOTU/ GOBI COCONUT KURMA/ CAULIFLOWER KOBBARI KURMA


I tried kootu with gobi for a change...it tasted good......

Ingredients
cauliflower florets-2cups
green gram/moong dal/pesara pappu-1/2cup
coconut powder-1/2cup
red chilli-4
turmeric-1/2tsp
pepper-1tsp
mustard-1tsp
jaggery-small piece
curry leaves-1spring
salt-to taste
oil-2stps


Preparation
wash the florets and dal..cook together with little water in a pressure cooker for 4-5mins...(around 2whistles)..keep it aside.
crush the pepper and make into a fine powder......
now add the pepper powder to the cooked dal mixture.....add in coconut powder too.....
add the jaggery at this time if you want(i didn`t used)..add salt too.....
now in in a kadai heat oil add the ings one by one like mustard,curry leaves,red chilli and turmeric..
pour the cooked dal mixture into the temper....and mix well......
hot and spicy GOBI KOOTU is ready..
serve with rice....

NOTE
you can add turmeric while cooking both in the pressure cooker.....
you can skip the jaggery......
use fresh coconut powder.....
cut florets in medium size....not too big or too small......
