BEETROOT UPMA/HEALTHY UPMA RECIPES/BREAK FAST RECIPES/BEET ROOT RECIPES



We all know the regular sooji upma and vermicelli upma too.rightsengihnampakgigi..i think you guys listening this name first time...soal..YES...this time i added beetroot instead of veggies....it tastes good...for a change you can try thiskenyit..and we all know that beet root is the one of the healthy root veggie...then here is the method...try it and let me know...senyum..

Ingredients
sooji/semolina/ravva-2cups
grated beet root-1/2cup
milk-1cup(option)
lemon juice-1tsp
water-4cups
salt-to taste

TO TEMPER
cumin-1tsp
curry leaves-1spring
urad dal-1tsp
red chilli-2
green chilli-2
oil-2tsps
chopped ginger1tsp
cashews-1tsp

Preparation
dry roast the sooji in a pan.....
heat a kadai with oil add tempering items and saute for 30secs..
now add in beet root and salt and fry it for 1minute and add in water.....
when water starts boiling add in sooji and mix it.
cover it with lid and cook til water is abosorbed.after the sooji half cooked simmer the flame.
this time you can add milk (i added)and lemon juice and mix it....cook it for 3more minutes in a low flame..
off the flame and serve with coconut chutney or any of your choice.......
NOTE
you can add coconut milk for rich taste..other wise you can skip it too......
you can skip the lemon juice too........
you can add few more cashews too....
