RICE IDLY/WITHOUT URAD DAL

Hey guys..how are you all?angelgood morning..you all know the idlys right..main ings in the idly recipe are rice with urad dal!!!!but this is little bit different from the normal idly recipe..
Yes...i added curd in this...actually the original recipe is with brown rice+methi leaves+temper.
but i did this with normal rice and without temper.it came out good..check it...iam posting the original recipe list too..you may try that one too if you are interested...ihikhik
Ingredients
white rice-2cups
curd-1cup

Original recipe ings list
brown rice-2cups
curd-1cup
methi/fenugreek leaves-few


TO TEMPER
mustard-1tsp
curryleaves-1spring
green chilli-2

Preparation
wash and soak the rice over night....other wise soak at least for 6-8 hrs.
grind the rice in a mixy jar and add in curd and salt..
keep it aside for 1hr....
grease the idly stand with oil and fill the batter....cook it for 15min in idly stand..(time may vary for each idly stand)mine took 20-25mins.
after 10mins take your idlies...


NOTEsenyum
according to the original recipe before filling the batter in the idly stand add in methi leaves..
put the temper and add on top the idlys after cooked.......
xpasti tastes good with coconut chutney or serve with any other pickle!!!!!

  1. this is really interresting.ive used curd for Rava idli, but never thought of pairing it with rice idly. Does the idli taste much different?
