CATEGORY-Easy Indian Sweets/South Indian Festival Sweets/Sweet poli recipes
PREPARATION TIME-10 MINUTES
COOKING TIME- 30 MINUTES
WHAT YOU NEED
Yellow pumpkin -grated 2 cups
white sugar - 1 cup
green cardamom powder 1 tsp
TO MAKE POLI
wheat flour - 1 cup
salt-1/2 tsp
oil -2 tbsp
For frying poli-ghee as needed
Heat a pan with ghee and roast dry fruits n nuts.Keep aside..Actually first I cooked halwa. so,for halwa you need these nuts..For poli you can skip this step.
peel skin and grate pumpkin..In another bowl, take flour, salt, oil and using water knead into a fine dough ball.Keep aside for 15-20 minutes..
Now in the non stick pan take 1 tbsp oil and roast pumpkin for 10 minutes in low flame. Now add sugar and mix well.Cook for 5 minutes..Finally add in cardamom powder for nice flavor and turn off after 2-3 minutes.
Now knead dough for 1-2 minutes again and divine into same size balls.Using a extra white flour/madia roll it like puri and place some pumpkin mixture/halwa..Close it from all sides carefully and roll it again carefully in medium size..
I like big size only, but it`s your choice.Repeat the same process with remaining dough.. In a tawa pour some ghee, place this sweet stuffed poli and fry it on both sides nicely..
Serve hot with dollop of ghee or warm..I love hot.. :)
